About Course

The Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Students course introduces second-semester physical therapy students to the essential principles and steps of adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The course explains how to recognize cardiac arrest, activate the emergency response system, and perform effective chest compressions and rescue breathing.

Students will learn the importance of maintaining circulation and oxygen delivery during life-threatening emergencies. Emphasis is placed on correct technique, rapid response, and understanding the physiological basis of CPR, helping learners build confidence in providing immediate life-saving support.
