This course provides comprehensive training in the recognition and emergency management of common medical emergencies encountered in dental practice. Learners will develop the knowledge and confidence to assess, stabilize, and respond to life-threatening conditions, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hypersensitivity emergencies. The course also covers the management of local anesthesia toxicity, hyperventilation, and other dental chair emergencies using evidence-based clinical approaches. By the end of the course, participants will be better prepared to ensure patient safety and deliver prompt, effective emergency care in the dental setting.

To be successful in this course, learners should have a basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology, vital signs, medical history taking, and routine dental patient assessment. They should be familiar with the principles of Basic Life Support (BLS), including the ABCDE approach and CPR.
This course is designed for BDS students, house officers, OMFS trainees, junior dental residents, dental interns, and dental surgery assistants involved in patient care. It is intended for learners who wish to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to recognize and manage medical emergencies encountered in the dental setting.
