This clinical bacteriology course introduces the classification and medical importance of bacteria, focusing on pathogenic groups and their role in disease. Students learn key concepts in Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including their pathogenesis, characteristics, and laboratory identification. Practical skills include staining techniques, biochemical tests, motility methods, and safe specimen handling. The course also covers laboratory hazards and precautions and the examination of clinical specimens such as pus, sputum, CSF, blood, urine, and stool. Emphasis is placed on linking theoretical knowledge with hands-on diagnostic practice in healthcare settings.
